Like a Girl: Level 01

What comes to mind when you hear “You ___ like a girl”? If you’re like me and most others in our culture, we typically recognize that as an insult. I think it’s time we redefine what that statement means.

              This program is designed for girls ages 12-17 who want to build self-esteem and confidence, build resilience to face the challenges of the world, or who simply want to get stronger. Through this 9-week program, girls will learn how to cultivate a healthier mindset, gain empowerment for themselves and their peers, and learn foundational knowledge for strength training. Girls will leave this program learning that lifting “like a girl” is something to be proud of.

Like a Girl consists of four 1.5-hour sessions. Classes consist of conjoined mental health and strength training components, covering some of the following topics:

  • Challenging negative thoughts

  • Body neutrality

  • Confidence

  • Compound lifts

  • Accessory lifts

  • Mind-muscle connection

  • Workout Splits

Group members can expect the first 20-25 minutes of each class to be spent engaging in a Brain Strength Lesson. The remaining hour of class will be spent in a Strength Training Lesson and strength-focused workout. The lessons in each class are designed to complement each other, so members can strengthen their mind and bodies at the same time.
